The Reverend Anthony Hall will be bringing his Holy Trinity Church Choir to the Rosenwald School at the Columbia Historical Museum Saturday, February 15th. The public is invited to attend this free program sponsored by your local museum. The choir will be singing spiritual songs inside the Rosenwald School, which is located at the intersection of East Clay and Broad streets in West Columbia. Plans are for the Holy Trinity choir to entertain guests from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Then Saturday afternoon, trail riders are scheduled to visit the museum and Rosenwald School from noon to 2 p.m. The trail riders will be gathering at the home of West Columbia City Councilman Robert Thomas later this week, and visit the historic Rosenwald School that was once a one-room schoolhouse in East Columbia for Black children between 1921 and 1948 Saturday afternoon before they hit the trail en route to Houston to be a part of the opening ceremonies of the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
The Columbia Historical Museum is located at 247 East Brazos Avenue in downtown West Columbia in the old First Capitol Bank building. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Contact the museum at (979) 345-6125 to set up tours of both the museum and the Rosenwald School, which is directly behind the museum building.
Everyone is invited to visit the museum and Rosenwald School Saturday, February 15th, and listen to the choir from Holy Trinity Church from 10 to 11 a.m. and socialize with the trail riders later in the day Saturday.
