The Columbia Historical Museum invites the public to attend the West Columbia museum’s annual meeting tonight. A review of the museum’s events and highlights from 2025 will be related to visitors while three new directors will be welcomed to the board of directors. The annual meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2026, in the front room of the museum at 247 East Brazos Avenue in downtown West Columbia. The Columbia Historical Museum is housed in the historic former First Capitol Bank building.
Officers serving the museum board in 2026 will be Christina Matthews, president; Misty Congdon, vice president; Jo Frances Chastain, treasurer; Tracy Gupton, recording secretary; and Pat Weeks, corresponding secretary.
Joining the board as new directors in 2026 will be Sheryl Waddy Davis, Mary Holler and Mike Reid. Returning as directors this year will be Dianne Holleman, Korey Langford, Freddie Matthews, Jana Ogilvie, Naomi Smith, Barbara Stubbs, Charley Tindol, Callie Venable and Dietrich Von Biedenfeld.
Light refreshments will be served. There is no entry fee to attend the museum’s annual meeting.
