All children of the West Columbia area are invited to attend the May 2nd “First Saturday of the Month” program at the historical Rosenwald School. The Columbia Historical Museum will be hosting the “Cinco de Mayo” children’s program this Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A pinata will be smashed open by the kids at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
There is no charge for children of all ages to attend the local museum’s “First Saturday of the Month” events at the Rosenwald School, which is located directly behind the museum in West Columbia at the intersection of Broad and Clay streets. There will be lots of treats for the kids and those participating will be instructed on how to make paper flowers. Mexico’s influence on early Texas will be one of the topics discussed at Saturday’s program.
