Due to an unforeseen medical emergency involving a family member of the couple from Baytown who was scheduled to put on a program at the Columbia Historical Museum Saturday, October 25, 2025, that program has been cancelled. The free program that was going to focus on the history and culture of the Alabama-Coushatta people had been planned to start at 12:30 p.m. October 25th.
Museum Manager Sally Reuffer received a message Saturday morning from the couple that they would be unable to come to West Columbia as scheduled and apologized for their predicament. The directors of the Columbia Historical Museum likewise apologize to anyone who had planned to attend Saturday’s program.
The Columbia Historical Museum is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday (except on certain holidays) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours of the museum and the historical Rosenwald School can be scheduled by calling the museum at (979) 345-6125.
The museum at 247 East Brazos Avenue in downtown West Columbia will be open Saturday, October 25th, until 2 p.m.
