The Columbia Historical Museum’s first “Coffee with a Cop” event offered local citizens the opportunity to share a little conversation and coffee and donuts with area law enforcement professionals. Hosted throughout Brazoria County at various locations during the year to honor those who serve the county’s communities in keeping citizens safe, “Coffee with a Cop” brings law enforcement and the communities they serve together for an informal event.

West Columbia’s police chief and Brazoria County’s sheriff were among those in local law enforcement who participated this past Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Columbia Historical Museum in downtown West Columbia. Naomi Smith, president of the local museum’s board of directors, and museum curator Michael Bailey welcomed the law enforcement representatives to the West Columbia museum.

Smith said she hopes to make the “Coffee with a Cop” program an annual event at the Columbia Historical Museum. Members of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department and the West Columbia Police Department participated in last week’s event.
